Overview
This contract offers full-time hours across 38 weeks of the year, primarily during term time. You will be required to work during the academic terms, with some additional duties outside of term time as needed. This structure provides a balance between a full-time role and flexibility during non-term periods.
Responsibilities
In this role, you will support learners with learning difficulties and disabilities to gain hands‑on work experience in a real‑life car valeting environment. You will provide practical, person‑centred support to individuals and small groups, adapting activities to meet each learner's individual needs, including support with communication, mobility, sensory challenges, or literacy and numeracy. You will record learner progress through detailed observation logs and progress reports, working closely with teachers, pastoral team, parents, carers, and external professionals to ensure every learner receives the right level of support. You will encourage safe and responsible working practices, act as a positive role model and mentor, contribute to team meetings, staff development activities, and ongoing improvements to the service, and may take responsibility for a group using prepared resources.
Qualifications
* NVQ Level 2 or equivalent qualification
* GCSEs in Maths and English (or willingness to work towards)
* Level 3 Teaching qualification, e.g. ETA L3 (or willingness to work towards)
* Level 2 Health and Social Care (or willingness to work towards)
* Experience supporting learners with learning difficulties and/or disabilities in an educational or care setting
* Strong planning and organisational skills, confidence using inclusive, person‑centred approaches, good IT skills and excellent record‑keeping
* Clear communication and teamwork skills, empathy, patience and professionalism at all times
