Overview
We are proud to partner with a rapidly improving secondary school in Gosport rated "Good" in all areas. They are seeking a Head of Modern Foreign Languages to lead their department for a one-year maternity cover. This role is an excellent opportunity for an experienced MFL specialist or aspiring middle leader to progress in a supportive, forward‑thinking environment.
Responsibilities
* Lead and deliver engaging MFL lessons across KS3 and KS4 (A‑Level teaching desirable but not essential)
* Support curriculum planning, assessment practices, and teaching strategies
* Drive continuous improvement across the department
* Collaborate with senior leadership to maintain high standards of teaching and learning
* Inspire colleagues and learners through enthusiasm, subject expertise, and a commitment to excellence

Qualifications
* Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
* Experience teaching French to GCSE (A‑Level desirable)
* Ability to teach Spanish and/or German (desirable but not essential)
* A genuine passion for languages, culture, and student achievement
* Strong leadership, communication, and organisational skills
