Your company
You will be joining an established civil engineering and groundworks contractor based in Derby, operating across the commercial, industrial, and energy industries. This multi-accredited contractor delivers projects valued at up to £20m for an array of high-profile clients and offers excellent opportunities for career progression and professional development. Due to continued success, they are seeking an Assistant Estimator to join their pre-contract team.
This is a full-time permanent position based out of their Derby office with the option for hybrid and flexible working.
Your new role
As Assistant Estimator, your responsibilities will include:
* Undertaking quantity take-offs from tender documents and drawings
* Producing bills of quantities to the appropriate method of measurement for estimators and subcontract or material enquiries
* Liaising with the procurement department to ensure documentation is complete before enquiries are sent out
* Assisting the bid submission team in the preparation of tender submissions
* Maintaining and regularly publishing agreed rates and prices for labour, plant, and materials
* Carrying out any other duties as requested by the estimators to assist with securing work for the business.
What you'll need to succeed
In order to be successful, you must have:
* Previous experience estimating within the Civil Engineering industry
* Strong numerical, analytical, and interpersonal skills
* Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines
* Proficiency in Microsoft Office packages
* Full UK driving licence.
