About Be Free Campaign
Be Free Campaign is a youth-led mental health charity based in Liverpool, working across the UK to challenge mental health stigma, build community resilience, and promote early intervention. We work directly with schools, communities, and local organisations, combining lived experience, creative approaches, and data-driven insights to improve mental health outcomes for young people.
We’re in an exciting period of growth and evolution, and we’re looking for a Fundraising Lead who can help us take our income generation to the next level.
The Role
We’re looking for a highly motivated, relational, and strategic fundraiser to lead on our corporate, community, and campaign-based fundraising.
You’ll work closely with the Operations Manager and Chief Executive to deliver and evolve our fundraising strategy, securing income that helps us reach more young people with trauma-informed mental health support.
This role is ideal for someone with 1+ years of fundraising experience (or 2+ years in income generation roles), who is ready to step into greater autonomy and lead delivery in a fast-moving charity.
You’ll be expected to drive forward initiatives, develop partnerships, and manage your own targets, with flexibility and support where needed.
Becca, our Partnerships & Engagement Officer, will continue to lead on challenge events and volunteer-led fundraising, so this role will focus specifically on:
* Individual giving and campaigns
* Donor stewardship
This role is expected to generate between £50,000 and £75,000 in unrestricted income during Year 1, through a combination of corporate partnerships, donor campaigns, and community initiatives.
* Identify and secure support from local businesses, SMEs, and corporate partners
* Build community-based relationships with faith groups, community organisations, clubs, and local networks
* Secure in-kind donations or support for key campaigns and events
Individual Giving & Campaigns
* Design and run donor campaigns that speak to our mission and lived experience story
* Increase donor retention and lifetime value through compelling comms and engagement
* Work with the wider team to link fundraising to wider movements, campaigns, and awareness periods (e.g. Mental Health Awareness Week)
* Create donor journeys and stewardship plans to keep supporters connected
* Develop content, comms, and reporting materials that show impact
* Use CRM tools to track income, manage contacts, and maintain clear donor records
Strategy, Reporting, and Cross-Team Collaboration
* Help refine our fundraising strategy based on what works
* Input into team-wide plans, campaigns, and partnership activity
* Provide regular updates to the Operations Manager and senior leadership
About You
* At least 1 year of experience in a fundraising role, or 2+ years in any income generation role (e.g. sales, development, partnerships)
* Strong relationship-building and communication skills
* Comfortable working independently and owning your own targets
* Experience running fundraising campaigns or initiatives
* Values-driven, proactive, and people-oriented
* Knowledge of Liverpool’s third sector or business landscape
* Experience in mental health, education, or youth sector contexts
* Understanding of trauma-informed or culturally competent fundraising
* Experience using fundraising CRM systems or databases (e.g. Airtable, Beacon, Salesforce)
What We Offer
* £28,000 salary for a 4-day week (32 hours)
* Flexible and hybrid working
* Access to training, coaching, and development
* Autonomy to shape your role and work creatively
* A diverse, inclusive, and supportive team
We particularly welcome applications from candidates from racialised communities, working-class backgrounds, or with lived experience of mental health challenges.
If you’re not sure you meet all the criteria but feel passionate about the role, we’d still love to hear from you. Please reach out for an informal chat.
