EQUANS is recruiting for a Gas Engineer based in Oldham. This is a permanent, full-time role working 37 hours per week. The package includes a salary of £41,000, a van, a fuel card, and benefits.
General Overview
The Gas Engineer will perform duties in accordance with statutory regulations, company policies, and procedures. Responsibilities include producing quality work safely, adhering to SHEQ requirements, and assisting the team.
The role involves servicing gas appliances such as boilers, fires, and cookers safely and efficiently, diagnosing and repairing breakdowns to achieve first-time fixes, and participating in an on-call rota for out-of-hours breakdowns.
Key Accountabilities
* Perform servicing, breakdowns, and installations safely.
* Maintain and care for tools and calibrated equipment.
* Use appropriate safety equipment and wear suitable clothing/uniform.
* Leave work areas clean and tidy.
* If allocated a van, be responsible for its care per company policy.
* Manage keys for communal entrances and meter cupboards, allowing access as needed.
* Communicate with clients, consultants, contract administrators, and head office.
* Coordinate and order materials.
* Complete site documentation accurately and promptly.
* Use a PDA or tablet for work documentation.
* Undertake required training and fulfill management requests.

Candidate Requirements
Qualifications
Domestic Gas ACS Elements (CCN1, CENWAT, CKR1, CPA1, HTR1, MET1, CMDDA1), Unvented Hot Water Elements, WR1 Water Regulations, City and Guilds Craft or Advanced Craft Certificates in Plumbing and Heating or equivalent.
Skills and Experience

* Valid UK driving license
* Professional attitude
* At least 2 years in a similar role
* Up-to-date industry knowledge and safety legislation
