Protect, Support, Change Lives - Senior Children's Social Worker
Bradford Metropolitan Council, working in partnership with Bradford Children and Families Trust, is recruiting experienced Senior Social Workers - Children's Services to join Initial Family Decision (IFD) Teams 1, 2 & 5 on a locum basis.
This is a high-impact opportunity for skilled practitioners to support children and families at the front door of services, ensuring timely, proportionate and child-focused decision‑making.
Role Information
* Contract Length: Initial 3 months, with potential for extension based on service needs
* Teams: IFD Teams 1, 2 & 5
* Working Pattern: Hybrid working model
Bradford Children and Families Trust operates hybrid working; however, there will be occasions where social workers are required to attend the office for specific tasks, team days, or service-led requirements, in line with operational needs.
The Role
* Managing a caseload within Initial Family Decision teams
* Undertaking Child in Need, Child Protection and statutory assessments
* Making informed threshold and safeguarding decisions at the front door
* Providing senior-level professional judgement and case direction
* Working closely with families, schools, health professionals and partner agencies
* Producing high-quality assessments, care plans and clear, timely reports
* Ensuring children's voices remain central to all decision-making
