Wentworth Castle Gardens is one of the country's greatest 18th century landscapes: a place of beauty and peace, rich in history and stories. Since 2019, we've been working in partnership to create a place that actively benefits our local communities. This is an exciting opportunity to build on those strong foundations as we focus on ending unequal access to nature, beauty and history for people in Barnsley and throughout South Yorkshire. You'll work closely with all departments and report to the Community, Participation & Volunteering Manager.

As our Community Engagement Co‑ordinator, you'll put people at the heart of everything we do. You'll build strong trusted relationships, partnerships and networks, understanding and responding to the needs of local communities. You'll develop our community partners programme, exploring new opportunities for collaboration and participation both on and off site.

Using data and insight, you will continually evolve your understanding of community needs and advocate for them. You'll increase the confidence of colleagues to work purposefully with communities.

The National Trust has the motto 'For everyone, for ever' at its heart. We're working hard to create an inclusive culture, where everyone feels they belong. It's important that our people reflect and represent the diversity of the communities and audiences we serve. We welcome and value difference, so when we say we're for everyone, we want everyone to be welcome in our teams too.
