Are you calm under pressure, confident working with people, and committed to keeping others safe? We’re looking for a proactive and professional Security Officer to join our us. You’ll play a vital role in maintaining a safe, secure and welcoming environment for students, staff and visitors across our campuses. Please note that this role is 37 hours per week, 40 weeks per year(term time). What you’ll do: • Patrol and monitor college campuses to ensure safety and security • Operate security systems including CCTV, access control and radio systems • Respond to incidents, emergencies and requests for assistance • Use de-escalation techniques to manage challenging situations • Challenge unauthorised access and support ID checks across campus • Log incidents accurately in line with safeguarding and health & safety procedures • Support emergency evacuations and liaise with emergency services when required • Assist with reception supervision and general campus safety duties What we’re looking for: • A calm, professional and approachable manner • Strong communication and interpersonal skills • Experience working in a customer-facing or security-related role (desirable) • Ability to manage behaviour and remain composed under pressure • Basic IT skills and confidence completing reports and logs • Commitment to safeguarding children, young people and vulnerable adults • Willingness to work flexibly, including occasional evenings or weekends We are an equal opportunities employer and welcome applications from all sectors of the community.
