Job Objectives And Responsibilities
1. Work in partnership with the Carlisle Account Director to lead the delivery of Projects across the Carlisle Account.
2. Actively contribute to the Account Senior Leadership Team and operate in line with policies / working practices defined by the Account Director.
3. Lead the delivery of Projects in line with Mitie and Account processes, adhering to client guidelines.
4. Manage projects including lifecycle Major Repairs (not delivered by the Core FM team) and Variations.
5. Own the delivery of the annual projects budget for the Account.
6. Prepare and maintain periodic progress updates (monthly, quarterly, and ad hoc).
7. Maintain the Schedule of Programmed Maintenance in collaboration with the Account Director.
8. Provide line management leadership over the project team, including Project Managers, Commercial/QS, and Projects Coordinator, with structure fluctuating based on demand.
9. Ensure adoption of Account policies across the projects team and foster collaboration with internal and external stakeholders.
10. Drive commercial leadership and operational project delivery (typically a 40:60 split).
11. Lead commercial discussions internally and with the Client, supported by Commercial/QS resources, with occasional solo responsibilities.
12. Assist with ad hoc resourcing requirements.
13. Leverage technology and resources to support project delivery, demonstrating Mitie's capabilities.
Main duties
The Senior Project Manager will manage projects valued between £5m to £10m, including lifecycle and variations, focusing on refurbishment works, mechanical/electrical upgrades, and new developments, in collaboration with the NHS Trust.
Person Specification
* Ability to work autonomously and demonstrate strong leadership, including matrix management.
* Maintain strong communication with the Carlisle Account Manager.
* Experience managing budgets and account plans.
* Relevant degrees and qualifications such as Construction Management, Project Management, APM, RICS, or Mechanical/Electrical Engineering.
* Safety Management, CDM, and SMSTS qualifications.
* Proven 5-10 years' experience in healthcare or construction project management roles.
* Understanding of healthcare sector project challenges and regulations.
* Experience with PFI projects.
* Ability to lead multidisciplinary teams effectively.
* Proactive, results-oriented, and able to meet deadlines under pressure.
* Willingness to travel as needed.
