Job Summary
At Tetra Tech you will work with high‑performing teams to find solutions to complex water, environment and infrastructure challenges. We are expanding our flood risk and water team and seek an experienced leader to support and grow our Water Engineering projects across the UK.
Location
UK – Manchester, Chorley, Cockermouth, Newcastle, Liverpool or Leeds offices (other locations considered for the right candidate).
Responsibilities
* Lead projects for the Water Engineering team across river, coastal and flood defence appraisal and design, hydraulic modelling, hydrology assessment and surface water management.
* Guide multidisciplinary teams, support clients and deliver the project portfolio; participate in bidding and proposal activities.
* Determine client briefs, lead design, deliver and close out projects from inception to completion according to best practice.
* Mentor, supervise and develop junior staff; manage change, schedule and cost.
* Work independently and proactively on technical aspects, ensuring delivery to time and cost targets.
Qualifications
* Experienced professional in flood risk and/or surface water separation projects, strategic catchment planning and decision making.
* Strong report writing, presentation and client relationship skills.
* Proven ability to lead multidisciplinary teams (hydraulic modellers, engineers, environmental consultants).
* Experience with ArcGIS, AutoCAD, Civil 3D and Microsoft Office suite.
* Degree level or equivalent in a relevant field and Chartered with the ICE or CIWEM (preferred).
* Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, able to work independently and deliver on time.
* Experience in bidding for work and developing new client propositions.
* Commitment to health and safety practices in the workplace and during design.
* Team player who is enthusiastic, flexible and capable of mentoring junior members.
* Full UK driving licence.
* Security clearance to minimum SC level preferable (or suitable to apply).
