Occupational Health Advisor
* Job Type: Full-time
* Location: Kirklees
Join Kirklees Council's in-house Employee Healthcare Unit (EHU) as an Occupational Health Nurse and contribute to innovative health management services. This role is crucial for maintaining employee health and managing sickness absence, aligning with Council policies on attendance and human resource management.
Day-to-day of the role:
* Conduct occupational health assessments and provide objective advice to managers and employees to support positive attendance at work.
* Perform pre-employment screening and determine fitness for work, offering advice and support to prospective and new employees.
* Assist in the delivery of health surveillance, vaccination programmes, and wellbeing activities.
* Collaborate with the EHU team to ensure services are provided effectively, ethically, and within budget.
* Contribute to the development and implementation of new EHU initiatives, adapting to changes and utilizing technology and resources efficiently.
* Enhance customer experience through strong partnership approaches with managers and staying updated with best practices in occupational health.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
* Registered Nurse on part 1 of the NMC register (Essential).
* Experience in managing challenging situations with clear judgement (Essential).
* Ability to write complex information for various audiences (Essential).
* Knowledge of how occupational health integrates with other Council services (Essential).
* Health Surveillance experience (Essential).
* Accepts a basic DBS check is required (Essential).
