Role - Social Care Worker (Alcohol and Drug Recovery Services)
Location - GCHSCP Alcohol and Drug Recovery Services, North West Localities (Possilpark, Drumchapel and Woodside), G20 7ET
Contract Status - Permanent

At Glasgow City Health and Social Care Partnership (GCHSCP), we are seeking Social Care Workers within our Alcohol and Drug Recovery Service (ADRS) to join a multi‑disciplinary and integrated team that delivers alcohol and drug care and treatment services within a recovery oriented system of care.
ADRS is committed to providing high quality care using an integrated model of delivery. Social Care Workers will be working as part of a large team dealing with complex service users with problematic drug and alcohol use and associated physical and mental health problems. Social Care Workers are expected to work closely with various services such as Children and Families, Justice, Homelessness, Acute Services, and third sector organisations, amongst others.
Candidates should be highly motivated and have good communication skills. They should hold values which promote the wellbeing of people with addiction problems, have a desire to support individuals with compassion and kindness while respecting their rights and choices.
Candidates should have an awareness of the impact of drug and alcohol issues on service users and the wider community. They should also have an understanding and commitment to recovery for individuals who experience difficulties with alcohol and drug issues.

Qualifications and Requirements
Applicants must possess a HNC in Social Care and/or SVQ Level 3 in Social Care.
Membership of the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (PVG) Scheme is essential on taking up appointment. Successful candidates for the above role will be required to pay for their PVG Membership/or Scheme Checks.
These roles are excepted under Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 (Exclusions and Exceptions) (Scotland) Order 2013 (as amended).
