Exciting times are ahead for us at ID Logistics, and we are growing quickly! We are looking to recruit a Procurement Specialist in our central fuctions team to support our logistics operations and projects by strengthening supplier management, cost control, and procurement processes. If you are commercially focused, highly organised, and experienced in managing spend within a fast‑paced logistics or project‑driven environment, we would love to hear from you. About You: Procurement and purchasing will feel like home to you. You are confident managing suppliers, controlling budgets, and supporting projects with accurate financial and commercial insight. You are comfortable working cross‑functionally, enjoy negotiating, and bring a structured, detail‑driven approach to managing spend and processes. Key Responsibilities: Procurement & Supplier Management - Source, evaluate, and onboard suppliers, building and maintaining a reliable approved supplier pool. Negotiate competitive pricing, payment terms, and commercial conditions with suppliers. Monitor supplier performance, delivery quality, and compliance with service agreements. Maintain strong working relationships with key suppliers, escalating issues when required. Project‑Focused Financial Management - Oversee the financial aspects of projects, ensuring spend is controlled and aligned to budgets. Track project costs throughout the lifecycle, highlighting risks, variances, or overspends. Provide procurement insights to support future bids using historical spend data. Identify opportunities for cost reduction, value engineering, and commercial improvement. Purchase Order & Procurement Administration - Create, manage, and monitor Purchase Orders (POs), ensuring accuracy and compliance with internal controls. Maintain a structured and efficient PO system to support reliable spend tracking. Process and record all purchasing data accurately, including quotes, approvals, and delivery confirmations. Review supplier invoices against POs, challenging discrepancies where required. Cost Control & Budget Tracking - Review costs against budget on a regular basis, with a strong focus on project spend. Analyse variances and escalate concerns where corrective action is required. Support Finance and Project teams with accurate data for monthly reviews and forecasting. Process Development & Compliance - Design and implement standardised procurement processes across all sites. Establish consistent documentation, approval workflows, and reporting structures. Ensure procurement activity complies with company policy and audit requirements. Drive continuous improvement in purchasing practices, systems, and tools. Skills & Experience: Strong working knowledge of Microsoft applications. Experienced and confident negotiator. Clear and effective communicator, comfortable working with multiple stakeholders. Previous experience in purchasing and procurement roles. Experience supporting projects or project‑based environments.
