Infrastructure Engineer 3 rd Line Server Upgrade Projects Remote working within 90 mins travel of Carlisle - min 3 months - £500/day inside IR35 Are you an experienced Infrastructure Engineer who wants to work with the latest technologies underpinning the Finance industry? My client is an established Financial Sector business who are upgrading their server estate. We are looking for solid Infrastructure Engineers (projects not support) who have strong server upgrade experience. What will you be doing? This role is part of the Infrastructure Team - not service desk. We are looking for someone with mid-level experience working within a structured environment where the quality of delivery is a priority. The successful candidate will get be part of a delivery team working on MS Server upgrades following a controlled projects delivery methodology. The upgrades will be in-place or full rebuild covering approx. 180 VMs. There are multiple workstreams working in small teams of 2x Engineer, 1 x BA, 1 xPM. Follow Test, Install, Maintenance, Upgrade and Continuous Improvement cycles are to ensure services are offering best value. Ensure the technology Infrastructure systems operate efficiently in accordance to agreed service availability metrics. Ensuring projects deliverables are met on schedule. Proactively engage in projects to deliver the appropriate solution. Effective time management. Create, update and review documentation following our systems library process. Identify and help mitigate risks. Follow the change control process. To understand and be aware of the risk and control environment in your area of the business and adhere to processes, procedures and policies in order to minimise risks. Demonstrate a commitment to a supportive and collaborative culture which promotes strong working relationships across CITO teams and the wider business. Ensuring all activities are undertaken in consideration of and in line with Technology and company Strategies. What skills and experience are we looking for? The role is predominantly home based although you will need to travel to Carlisle for occasional meetings, this is estimated as two/three times per month.
