Offer description

We are looking for an experienced Emergency Nurse Practitioner or Emergency Care Practitioner to join our Minor Injuries and Illness Unit at Tetbury Hospital Trust on a permanent, full-time basis for 37.5 hours per week.

Main duties of the job

About You

The ideal candidate will:

* Be an Emergency Nurse Practitioner with current registration with the NMC.
* Have demonstrable leadership experience in a healthcare environment.
* Have experience of overseeing quality, governance, and safety of regulated services.
* Be able to influence and drive change and improvement.
* Have knowledge of quality governance arrangements and Care Quality Commission standards and assessment.

Job responsibilities

The post holder will work within the MIIU, overseen by the Matron, to ensure the delivery of effective and high-quality clinical services and the achievement of strategic objectives and performance targets.

The post holder will be responsible for ensuring high-quality care through the daily coordination of activities, working autonomously with responsibility for assessment, examination, and care planning for patients attending the MIIU, delivering evidence-based care to enable safe discharge, within scope of practice.

Promoting a positive approach to new challenges and creative working methods. Acting as a patient advocate throughout the MIIU process, liaising with all multidisciplinary team members to coordinate patient care.

Person Specification


Qualifications

* First Degree or working towards it.
* Experience in assessment, diagnosis, and management of minor illness/injuries.
* Evidence of significant Continuing Professional Development.
* Minor Injuries and/or Minor Illness Course, or willingness to work towards it.


Flexibility

* Willingness to be flexible and adaptable.
* Ability to work across a 5-day week.
* Ability to work unsocial hours if required.


Experience

* Experience working in an acute or community hospital as an ENP.
* Management of minor injuries and illnesses.
* Fracture management.
* Recent and ongoing evidence of developing relevant practice.
* Understanding of local and national issues related to urgent care.
* Excellent knowledge in managing minor illnesses/injuries.
* Experience working with multidisciplinary teams.
* Ability to teach and develop staff and students effectively.
* Credible clinical expertise.
* Awareness of the Clinical Governance agenda.
* Knowledge of Infection Control principles.
* Understanding of Health & Safety at Work.
* Ability to promote equality, diversity, and rights.
* Understanding of developing protocols and guidelines.


Communication Skills

* Excellent ability to communicate effectively at all levels using appropriate media.
* Motivated and enthusiastic.

Disclosure and Barring Service Check

This role requires a DBS check due to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (Exceptions Order) 1975.

Salary range: £47,810 to £54,710 per year, depending on experience.
