Job summary

An exciting opportunity has arisen within Easington North Community Mental Health Team on 12-month secondment or fixed term basis to cover the current post holders maternity leave.

You will support the team with administration duties and you will be a vital member of our team. Our administration team liaise with patients daily. You will also support with our daily huddles and multi-disciplinary meetings capturing information, documenting in a timely, concise and clear way. You may also need to accommodate urgent requests from senior staff to meet service demand.

You must have the Right to Work in the UK in order to be successfully appointed to this role. Please note, this role does not meet the required eligibility criteria for sponsorship under the Skilled Worker visa and therefore the Trust is unable to offer sponsorship for this particular role.

Main duties of the job

The successful candidate will be working within Darlington Community HUB and Darlington Community Treatment & Intervention Team. We are co-located at West Park Hospital. We are looking to employ a hardworking, conscientious individual who is able to present themselves in a professional manner. The successful candidate would be required to perform administrative duties, have an understanding of Information systems and be able to contribute to ongoing service development.

Job description

Job responsibilities

The successful applicant will ideally have an awareness of mental health issues and will be able to demonstrate a caring and sensitive approach to their work. They will have an eye for detail and a high degree of accuracy. They will be able to effectively and clearly communicate with colleagues, service users and their families, along with external agencies in order to support liaison services.

Qualifications

Essential

1. Level 3 Qualification in relevant field or equivalent experience or willingness to work towards Level 3 in Business Administration.
2. Key skills/functional skills in literacy and numeracy Level 2 OR O Level (Grade C and above/New GCSE in Maths and English (Grade 4 to 9) are an essential requirement to be fully competent in the role

Desirable

3. Level 3 in Business Administration.
4. RSA Level 2 or equivalent Secretarial/administrative experience in a clinical environment

Knowledge

Essential

5. Comprehensive knowledge of Microsoft Office applications (word, excel, outlook)
6. Understanding of data protection and the need for confidentiality and how to maintain this.
7. Knowledge of office systems and processes

Desirable

8. Knowledge of NHS systems

Skills

Essential

9. Good organisational and diary management skills

10. Audio/touch typing

Experience

11. Experience of working in an administrative environment (diary management, filing systems, meeting coordination, minute talking, data input, collating and presenting information)
12. Customer Service experience (face to face, answering calls, correspondence).
13. Experience of organising completing demands and workloads.
14. Experience of setting up and maintenance of administrative systems and processes.
15. Experience of working autonomously and proactively.

16. Experience of supporting/supervising staff.
