An exciting new job opportunity has arisen for a committed Deputy Ward Manager to work in an exceptional mental health hospital based in Dorking, Surrey. You will be working for one of the UK’s leading healthcare providers.
This mental hospital provides acute mental health services along with a 3-bed step-down, community-focused ward. The service supports males of working age experiencing an acute mental health episode, providing the necessary care during crises.
To be considered for this position, you must be qualified as a Registered Mental Health Nurse with an active NMC Pin.
As the Deputy Ward Manager, your key responsibilities include:
* Assist with the clinical development of the ward by managing staff and monitoring standards and practice.
* Work closely with the Ward Manager to achieve ward targets and deliver high-quality patient care.
* Coordinate the quality and management of nursing care, patient care, and the clinical environment.
* Participate fully with the multidisciplinary team and undertake direct patient care.
* Manage and direct clinical services within a ward or unit, ensuring compliance with regulations and quality standards.
The following skills and experience are preferred:
* Previous experience in an acute admissions environment.
* At least 2 years post-qualifying experience.
* Effective leadership skills, including self-motivation.
* Passionate, driven, confident, and resilient leader.
* Excellent communication skills with the ability to lead, motivate, and inspire teams.
* A commitment to patient-centered, values-based, and evidence-based practice.
The successful Deputy Ward Manager will receive a salary of £43,014 – £46,314 per annum DOE. This is a permanent, full-time role working 37.5 hours per week. Benefits include:
