Duties & Responsibilities:
* Supervise electrical, instrumentation, control, and automation installation activities by client personnel, subcontractors, and suppliers.
* Evaluate electrical design drawings, schedules, and documents from clients for pricing purposes.
* Develop electrical design drawings, calculations, schedules, and documents for Motor Control Centres and cable networks to local motors and instruments, including containment requirements.
* Produce Functional Design Specifications (FDS) and Control Philosophy documents.
* Assess Client DNO supply characteristics, site earthing layouts, and lightning protection needs.
* Prepare electrical designs, specifications, and enquiry documents for use in subcontractor tender packages.
* Review supplier and subcontractor electrical design drawings, schedules, and documents for approval and specification compliance.
* Ensure adherence to all applicable standards, regulations, and company Health & Safety policies.
* Attend Factory Acceptance Tests (FATs) and integrated FATs (iFATs) as necessary.
* Inspect installations to ensure testing and commissioning meet British, ISO, and client-specific standards.
* Oversee electrical installation inspections, certification coordination, and support commissioning activities.
* Collaborate effectively with team members, clients, suppliers, and other contractors.
* Follow all relevant Risk Assessments, Method Statements, and Safe Systems of Work, always working safely and responsibly.
* Identify and report opportunities for business improvement and innovation using appropriate channels.
* Participate in team meetings both in person and virtually.
* Assist with general branch office operations during staff absences or leave.
* Carry out additional duties aligned with skills and experience as needed to support the role and comply with company procedures.
Key Skills & Experience:
* Degree, HND, HNC, or equivalent in engineering, science, or a related field.
* At least three years’ post-graduate experience in a comparable role within utilities or M&E engineering.
* Proven experience in industrial/commercial electrical and ICA design, assembly, installation, testing, and commissioning, preferably in the water industry.
* Knowledge of MCC/Electrical Panel design, related calculations, and preparation of supporting design documents.
* Familiarity with LV and ELV systems – including signal conditioning, conversion, digital I/O, relay logic, and instrumentation.
* Experience as a NIC-EIC Competent Person is advantageous.
* Strong communication skills for engaging with clients and colleagues effectively.
* Background in the UK water sector is highly desirable.
* Willingness to travel regionally and nationally (including overnight stays) as required.
* Possession of a full UK driving licence.
