Job description
* Deliver engaging and inspiring Science lessons that challenge students to think critically and explore the world around them.
* Develop and implement a knowledge:rich curriculum that goes beyond the everyday experience of students.
* Collaborate effectively with a strong pastoral team to foster a culture of high expectations and personal growth.
* Maintain accurate records, assessments, and progress reports to ensure every student is on the path to success.
* Contribute to the development of the Science department, sharing best practices and innovative teaching strategies.
* Create a calm, positive, and purposeful classroom environment by consistently applying the academys firm but fair behavior policy.
* Utilize structured pedagogy and scaffolded support to make complex scientific concepts accessible to all learners.
* Participate in the academys vibrant community life, including house events and student enrichment initiatives.
Requirements
Were looking for you, if:
* Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or an equivalent teaching qualification is held.
* A strong degree in a Science discipline (Biology, Chemistry, or Physics) is possessed.
* A passion for social mobility and a belief that every child can achieve greatness regardless of their background.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with students, parents, and colleagues.
* The ability to thrive in a fast:paced, ambitious environment where high standards are the norm.
* A commitment to professional growth and a willingness to engage with research:informed pedagogical practices.
* Strong classroom management skills, with the ability to maintain a focused and respectful learning atmosphere.
* Experience or a desire to work in an inner:city setting to help close the educational attainment gap.
