Invite‑Only Recruitment Event

Where: Trentside Business Village, Farndon Road, Newark, NG24 4XB

In April we are hosting an invite‑only Recruitment Event at The Farndon Unit for Healthcare Assistants, who are equipped with the knowledge and practical skills to join the team and are ready to take the next step in their healthcare career, apply to register your interest.

This dedicated event will give shortlisted candidates a chance to learn more about our service, meet members of the team, and take part in pre‑booked interviews — offering a unique opportunity to secure a role within our supportive and compassionate environment.

This is an invite‑only event — there will be no walk‑ins on the day.

Roles we're recruiting for on the day:

Healthcare Assistant:

If you’re a naturally caring person who loves to support others — someone who wants their work to truly mean something — you’ll feel right at home at The Farndon Unit in Newark as a Healthcare Assistant, where at Elysium we believe great care starts with great people.

Important Information

* This is an invite‑only event — there will be no walk‑ins on the day.
* To be considered, you must register your interest by applying to the Recruitment event vacancy
* Successful shortlisted applicants will receive an official invitation with full details once screened by our recruitment team
Interviews take place on the day, so bring your up-to-date CV. Please note if you are applying with a 20-hour Student Visa, you must be able to complete a 3 week full-time in person induction. If you are unable to commit to the induction, we will not be able to take your application further

What you will be doing:

As a Healthcare Assistant, you’ll be part of a warm, inclusive team where you’ll bring compassion and empathy to your work as you support women with a range of Mental Health needs. You’ll offer a calm, reassuring presence and use strong communication and teamwork to help people move forward in their recovery, regain confidence, and work towards a more fulfilled life.

You won't need experience as a healthcare assistant, but you'll bring curiosity and a willing ness to learn, along with reliability, integrity and attention to detail. Combined with the confidence to adapt in a dynamic environment, these qualities will help you deliver safe, person‑centred care and support people throughout their recovery journey. You’ll be valued for who you are, supported to grow, and encouraged to bring your whole self to work. This is your chance to make a genuine difference every day.

You’ll work 12.5‑hour shifts, 3–4 days per week, including nights and weekends

What you’ll be doing:

You’ll play a key role in delivering safe, person‑centred care. Your day‑to‑day may include:

* Supporting individuals with their recovery goals
* Participating in ward rounds and multidisciplinary discussions
* Observing and understanding behaviours to adapt care appropriately
* Building therapeutic, trusting relationships with patients
* Assisting with personal care and daily living activities
* Updating and maintaining accurate patient records
* Promoting dignity, independence and wellbeing
* Working collaboratively with nurses, therapists and support teams

Where you will be working:

Location: Farndon Rd, Newark NG24 4SW

The Farndon Unit is a purpose-built hospital which provides services across low secure, rehabilitation and acute inpatient settings for women with Mental Health and personality disorder diagnoses.

Our combination of low secure wards and a rehabilitation ward area (also within the low secure perimeter) provide a seamless internal care pathway supporting and empowering patients in their recovery and rehabilitation prior to discharge. Our on-site facilities include large and attractive en-suite bedrooms, disabled facilities, secure courtyard and garden, patient café, gym, salon, and activity hall.
