Housing Support Worker, Central Oxford, ££ per hour
Role Overview
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Housing Support Worker to join our team in Central Oxford, working on an agency basis, starting immediately. As a Housing Support Worker, you will play a vital role in delivering high-quality support, housing management, and resettlement opportunities to individuals in need. Your expertise will help empower service users to make positive changes in their lives, and you will work collaboratively with various agencies to provide a holistic response to individual needs.
Key Responsibilities
Develop and maintain effective, professional relationships with service users, utilising a trauma-informed approach to empower and motivate individuals.
Coordinate with support agencies, including substance use services, probation, health professionals, and adult social care, to provide a comprehensive response to individual needs.
Lead on identifying and applying for suitable move-on accommodation, providing support throughout the transition and settling-in process.
Assess risk and suitability of referrals, creating and maintaining person-centred, strengths-based support plans, and identifying suitable move-on opportunities.
Manage risk for individuals and the service, maintaining risk assessments and reporting safeguarding concerns promptly.
Collaborate with the Team Manager and colleagues to achieve contractual performance targets and organisational objectives.
Maintain a safe, clean, and welcoming environment across accommodation services, including room cleaning and clearance as required.
Manage challenging situations in line with procedures, ensuring the safety of yourself and others.
Update IT systems and maintain concise record-keeping, contributing to a positive team culture and participating in the induction and support of new team members.
Required Skills & Experience
To be successful in this role, you will require excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with various agencies and stakeholders. You will be compassionate, empathetic, and committed to delivering high-quality support services. Experience working in a similar role, preferably within the social care or housing sector, would be beneficial.
