About the Role
As Academy Operations & Experience Manager you will act as the front of house and facilities lead for the Midlands Academy. You will be responsible for the effective management of academy buildings, learning spaces, technology and onsite services, creating a seamless and professional experience for colleagues, partners, suppliers and senior leaders.
You will oversee daily operations, manage facilities and estate suppliers, support learning delivery and large‑scale events, and ensure all academy environments are operationally ready, well maintained and compliant at all times. You will also host senior leaders and VIP visitors, acting as a trusted partner to ensure every visit and event runs smoothly, safely and to a high professional standard.
What You’ll Be Doing
* Act as the single point of accountability for academy facilities and operations, supporting learning delivery and large-scale events
* Manage day-to-day facilities management and onsite operations across the Midlands Academy Super Hub and seven satellite sites
* Ensure academy buildings, training rooms, breakout areas and communal spaces are safe, compliant, clean, well maintained and fit for purpose
* Build strong working relationships with Estates, IT, Security, Health & Safety and Operations to keep training environments ready for use
* Manage service providers including cleaning, security, catering, AV, room setup and specialist learning suppliers
* Lead the coordination of space planning, room configuration and logistics to support learning programmes and events
* Support and host VIP visits, senior leaders and external customers, ensuring facilities and services meet high standards
* Lead technology, facilities and estate improvement projects that enhance the learner and visitor experience
* Proactively identify risks, resolve operational issues and drive continuous improvement across academy facilities
* Review learner and stakeholder feedback to improve courses, facilities and overall academy experience
* Ensure large-scale events are delivered safely, compliantly and smoothly, in line with health, safety and estate standards
What We’re Looking For
* Proven experience in facilities management, estates or site operations, ideally within a multi-site environment
* Strong understanding of building operations, compliance, health & safety and supplier management
* Excellent planning, problem-solving and organisational skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities
* A customer-focused, service-led mindset, committed to delivering high-quality experiences for learners and visitors
* Strong communication and relationship-building skills, with confidence working with senior leaders and diverse stakeholders
* A proactive, flexible and resilient approach, comfortable working with ambiguity and operational challenges
