We are seeking an enthusiastic graduate to join our building surveying team, supporting our growing suite of services and client base, and progressively taking on more technical responsibilities as you gain experience.
You’ll be supporting our professional team at Summers‑Inman — now part of Bellrock Consulting — in delivering high-quality surveying services, coordinating projects, and developing your technical and professional expertise as you progress towards chartership.
Responsibilities
* Support the delivery of building surveying and consultancy services across a range of property types and sectors.
* Assist senior surveyors in managing projects and client instructions from inception to completion.
* Gain hands‑on experience in condition surveys, defect diagnosis, and contract administration.
* Contribute to report writing, data management and document control within the team.
* Help ensure projects are delivered on time, to budget, and to the highest professional standards.
* Promote Bellrock’s and Summers‑Inman’s values through professional conduct and excellent client service.
* Actively develop technical knowledge, professional judgement and RICS competency framework.
* Embrace sustainable practices and support the integration of environmental considerations into project work.
Additional Responsibilities
* Assist with property inspections, condition surveys, and building fabric assessments.
* Help prepare reports, schedules of condition, maintenance plans and defect analyses.
* Support the preparation of technical specifications, tender documentation and drawings.
* Contribute to the administration of construction contracts, including record keeping and liaison with contractors.
* Assist in preparing cost estimates, project programmes and client updates.
* Maintain and organise project documentation, data and reporting templates.
* Liaise with clients, contractors, consultants and internal colleagues to ensure efficient project delivery.
* Support team meetings, site visits and progress reporting.
* Participate in developing and maintaining good working relationships with existing and new clients.
* Promote sustainable thinking and help integrate environmental considerations into projects.
* Assist with day‑to‑day administrative duties including scheduling, filing and project tracking.
Qualifications
You have a Building Surveying degree awarded by a UK university accredited by the RICS. You may have gained experience through a placement, internship or entry‑level role in a surveying or property consultancy environment.
* A sound understanding of building surveying principles and construction technology.
* Awareness of building pathology, maintenance and statutory requirements.
* Basic familiarity with contract administration and tendering processes.
* Competent in Microsoft Office applications and ideally some experience with AutoCAD or similar software.
* Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to produce clear, concise reports.
* Excellent organisational and time‑management skills.
* Keen attention to detail and commitment to quality.
* A full clean UK driving licence (or working towards obtaining one).

Working Arrangements

In this role, the successful candidate would be required to work from Summers‑Inman London, Kingston Upon Thames, KT1 1HL. Monday to Friday 08:30am to 05:00pm.
