Job Description
Our client, a leading groundworks and civil engineering contractor with over 25 years of experience, is seeking a Quantity Surveyor to join their commercial team covering sites across Nottingham/ Newark-on-Trent and sown to Huntingdon when not on site will be based in their office outside Leicester. With a turnover exceeding £250 million and over 1,500 employees, they operate nationally, delivering high-volume residential groundwork packages for some of the country's most respected housebuilders.

Quantity Surveyor Job Overview
* Managing all project costs from tender through to final accounts
* Preparing and reviewing tenders with the estimating team and identifying value engineering opportunities
* Monitoring and managing variations, claims and client instructions
* Managing subcontractor procurement, payments and final accounts
* Maintaining cash flow and ensuring timely payments and valuations
* Reporting regularly on cost/value reconciliations and forecasting
* Working closely with site teams to understand project progress and risks
* Building strong relationships with client commercial teams and suppliers
* Mentoring and developing junior members of the team as required
Quantity Surveyor Job Requirements
* Minimum 3 years' experience in a Quantity Surveying role (either as Assistant QS or QS)
* Background in residential groundworks preferred, although general residential construction experience will be considered
* HNC/HND/Degree in Quantity Surveying or Construction Management
* Strong numerical, commercial, and contractual knowledge
* Excellent Excel skills and familiarity with cost reporting tools
* Effective communicator with good organisational ability
* Clean UK driving licence and willingness to travel to sites as required
Quantity Surveyor Salary & Benefits
* Salary: £33,000 - £55,000 DOE
* Company car or £840/month car allowance + fuel card
