About the Role
:
We are looking at hiring a Facilities Manager to join our team here in Bristol. This role involved regular travel across Bristol, Bath and Portsmouth where the business requires. The main role is to ensure that the service provided to the facilities meets the contract specification and is managed in a compliant and safe manner. The role will be managing a team of 6 including Supervisor, Electrician, Gas Engineers and Housing Officers.
1. To monitor, evaluate and control the use of sub-contractors and suppliers in the effective and compliant delivery of the PPM, Reactive and lifecycle services.
2. To monitor, evaluate and control the performance of all internal labour and resources to provide effective and compliant delivery of the PPM, Reactive and lifecycle services.
3. To participate in the branch call-out rota where required
4. To ensure that all contractual and service level requirements are achieved for relevant service offerings.
5. Provide specialist input as required across all FM contracts where appropriate, including assistance with Bids/Tenders when necessary.
6. To assist in the broader operational management of the service contract delivery, including covering for other managers and contributing to the planning and development of the service.
7. Organise/Coordinate and assist with the compiling and production of various reports including Monthly reports, Lifecycle Condition Surveys and various other specific projects.
8. Attend informal and formal meetings and training sessions to ensure up to date business and job knowledge, communication, skills & progression are maintained. This includes but is not limited to training, re-training, toolbox talks, 1:1’s, probation reviews etc.
Role Criteria:
9. Experience within the commercial sector
10. Full understanding of PPM and reactive maintenance
11. Experience of sub-contractor and resource management
12. People management – experience managing trade
13. Understanding and knowledge of Gas Engineers and Electrician duties
14. Excellent communication
15. Willing to travel – regular travel involved both long and short journeys
16. Full UK driving license

To drive a Mears vehicle, you must be aged over 21 have held your licence over 3 months and have less than 9 points.
