Qualified Architect (Part 3) – Residential Focus
Stefan Shaw Studio is looking for a sharp, thoughtful architect to join our close-knit team in Peckham. We’re a RIBA-chartered practice working across inventive residential and mixed-use schemes – projects with narrative, ambition and craft. Based at Peckham Levels, we’re surrounded by energy, ideas, and some of London’s best food and music.
We work hands-on from early ideas through to delivery – and we’re after someone who thrives on that full arc.
What You’ll Be Doing:
* Lead or co-lead residential and mixed-use projects across RIBA Stages 1–4
* Develop clear and well-resolved concept, planning and technical design packages
* Produce high-quality drawings and documentation for planning, building regs, and construction
* Work closely with the director, clients and consultants to shape each design
* Feed into internal reviews, studio growth and design direction
What We’re Looking For:
* UK-qualified Architect (ARB Part 3) with min. 2 years’ post-Part 3 UK experience
* Demonstrated experience in residential projects (small sites, conversions, new builds, etc.)
* Strong design and communication skills – able to think strategically and draw beautifully
* Proficiency in Microstation is essential – if you don’t use it, please don’t apply
* Rhino skills also preferred (we use it regularly for early-stage modelling)
* Confident understanding of UK building regulations and planning context
* Someone self-directed and proactive, comfortable working on multiple live projects
* Must have the right to work in the UK – we are unable to sponsor visas
