Overview
This is a fantastic opportunity for a qualified finance professional who enjoys working closely with stakeholders, providing insight and challenge, and making a real difference through high quality financial leadership. You will lead on financial business partnering for our development programme, responsible for budget setting, forecasting, monitoring and reporting, ensuring strong financial control, transparency and value for money. Working closely with budget holders and the Leadership Team, you will provide timely, insightful financial advice to support informed decision making and the successful delivery of new development schemes. You will also contribute to treasury management activity, statutory and regulatory reporting, and the ongoing improvement of financial systems and processes. You will line manage one Management Accountant and play an important role in developing a high performing, engaged finance team.
Responsibilities
* Lead budgets, forecasts and management accounts for the Development programme.
* Provide trusted finance business partnering and professional challenge to senior stakeholders.
* Support financial appraisal, accounting and reporting for new development schemes.
* Produce and monitor cash flow forecasts and support treasury and covenant compliance.
* Ensure compliance with Housing SORP, regulatory and statutory requirements.
* Oversee capital accounting, grants, VAT and taxation within development activity.
Qualifications
* CCAB qualified accountant.
* Strong experience in financial and management accounting.
* Proven financial business partnering experience in a regulated environment.
* Budget setting, forecasting and variance analysis expertise.
* Excellent communication skills with the ability to explain complex financial information clearly.
* Strong Excel and financial systems skills.
* Commitment to Equality, Diversity & Inclusion, Health & Safety, Wellbeing and Safeguarding.
Desirable
* Experience within housing, development or social housing.
* Knowledge of Housing SORP, Homes England and Regulator of Social Housing reporting.
* Experience of treasury management and covenant monitoring.
* VAT and taxation experience within a housing or development context.
