We are seeking a Senior Biomedical Scientist – Haematologist to join our esteemed client in Brighton. This role involves processing Haemoglobinopathy samples on Tosoh G11, interpreting results, and reporting findings to support accurate diagnosis and treatment. The successful candidate will also play a key role in training and competence development within Haemoglobinopathy, reviewing Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), and assisting in the day-to-day running of the laboratory for the Ante-Natal Screening programme and UKAS accreditation compliance.
Key Responsibilities
The role requires expertise in haematology and haemoglobinopathy diagnostics, including processing and analyzing samples using Tosoh G11, interpreting and reporting results with precision, and providing training and competency assessments for staff. The haematologist will be responsible for reviewing and updating Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) to ensure compliance, supporting the Ante-Natal Screening programme, and ensuring adherence to UKAS accreditation standards. Additionally, they will assist in the day-to-day running of the laboratory, contributing to high-quality patient care and effective diagnostic outcomes.
Qualifications & Experience
* HCPC registration (essential).
* Degree in Biomedical Science or equivalent.
* Extensive experience in haematology and haemoglobinopathy diagnostics.
* Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
* Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
