Strategic Systems and Interface Manager – Programme Solutions
Salary: Circa £68,000, full‑time with possibility for part‑time, 37 hours per week, permanent. Location: Peterborough – hybrid working 2–3 days in office per week. Benefits include private health care, double‑matched pension, virtual GP service, and life assurance at up to 8× salary.
Role Overview
Lead the development and delivery of systems and operations strategy for the UK’s Fens and Lincolnshire Reservoirs projects. Shape definition and communication of external and internal system interfaces, supporting the definition of specifications and risk allocation. Collaborate with sponsors, internal teams and a wide range of external stakeholders, including regulatory bodies and water companies, to ensure project requirements are defined, allocated and fulfilled.
Responsibilities
* Lead the planning, design and implementation of robust asset systems and operational modes, integrating with broader project strategies and establishing key contractual system requirements.
* Build strategic relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including Anglian Water, Cambridge Water, Environment Agency and supply chain partners.
* Mobilise subject‑matter expertise to respond to programme queries, asset standard deviations and technical requests, ensuring responses are proportionate, consistent and justifiable, supporting DCO delivery and commercial procurement.
* Oversee scoping and delivery of task orders with progress monitoring and liaison with engineering and programme management teams.
* Drive a culture of continuous improvement, ensuring compliance with health, safety and wellbeing policies and maintaining a zero‑accident culture.
Qualifications
* Experience working with complex systems, ideally in the water industry.
* Knowledge of raw and potable water operations.
* Ability to think strategically and tactically, with a technical mindset.
* Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
* Strong IT and project management skills.
* Commercial and industry sector awareness.
* Knowledge of control systems.
