Role Description

We have an exciting opportunity for a Network Design Assistant (Graduate / Junior Level) to join our growing Network Design team. In this role, you will support the efficient management of the end‑to‑end design process, ensuring that design submissions, enquiries, and applications are processed accurately, efficiently, and in line with Aurora Utilities Limited Licence Conditions and standards. You will help maintain smooth workflow operations by monitoring the design inbox, tracking project progress, supporting design reviews, and maintaining technical documentation and policies.

You will work closely with stakeholders across the business, including the wider engineering team, to support activities such as LV and ICP self‑design approvals, generation connection applications, grid capacity analysis, CAD drawing development, and maintenance of asset management tools and datasets. You will play an important role in ensuring that engineering data is accurate, complete, and available for downstream project stages. This role is ideal for a graduate or early‑career engineer looking to develop skills in network design, distribution standards, and engineering governance.

A key element of this role involves providing administrative and technical support to Design Engineers and other engineering colleagues throughout the project lifecycle. You will contribute to the preparation of documentation that enables a seamless transition from design to delivery, supporting the resolution of design‑related queries and ensuring compliance with internal standards. You will also support the updating of policies, procedures, and technical libraries, contributing to continuous improvement across the team. Your adaptability, customer focus, and commitment to high‑quality work will be essential to supporting the success of the department.

If you can demonstrate your ability to remain “switched on”, “adaptable”, and take “pride” in everything you do, this role offers an excellent foundation to build a strong career in engineering within a supportive and dynamic environment.

* Provide timely and accurate support to internal and external stakeholders.
* Collaborate to ensure a smooth transition of projects into delivery and operations.

* Be working towards or hold a Degree, ONC, or HNC in Electrical Engineering, Power Systems, or a related discipline.
* Demonstrate a basic understanding of the electricity industry and how distribution networks operate.
