Are you an experienced Site Engineer looking for your next challenge on significant infrastructure projects? We are seeking a Site Engineer to join our team on the Highways scheme in Penrith, Cumbria. This is a critical role supporting a major infrastructure project. Location: Penrith, Cumbria Salary: £35,000 - £45,000 As a Site Engineer, your responsibilities will include: Providing engineering support to the Site Manager and Project Team for the highways scheme. Assisting with setting out works, levelling, and measuring to ensure construction aligns precisely with drawings and specifications. Preparing and maintaining detailed site records, including daily reports and as-built drawings. Monitoring project progress against the program and budget. Ensuring strict compliance with health and safety regulations and company procedures. Liaising effectively with project team members, subcontractors, and clients. Assisting in the management of materials and resources on site. Identifying and reporting any potential problems or risks to the Site Manager. Contributing to a safe and efficient working environment. What We're Looking For The ideal candidate will possess: A relevant qualification in Civil Engineering (HNC/HND or Degree). Demonstrable experience as a Site Engineer on highways schemes. While experience in Cumbria is a plus, it's not essential. A strong understanding of construction techniques and best practices for highway works. Proficiency in using surveying equipment and software (e.g., total stations, GPS, AutoCAD). Excellent communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills. The ability to work both independently and as part of a team. A proactive and solutions-oriented approach.
