We are seeking a Head of Credit Risk to be responsible for the first line Risk across the Mortgages department and forward flow agreements, playing a pivotal role in shaping the lending strategy of the business.
This role falls under SM&CR, and the successful candidate will need to be certified.
Key Requirements:
* Detailed mortgage knowledge, preferably in a specialist lender
* Strong credit risk management knowledge and experience
* Detailed knowledge of FCA principles
* Demonstrable knowledge of regulatory requirements
Key Responsibilities:
* Collaborate with and guide colleagues on credit risk policies as a key member of the Retail senior team.
* Monitor and report on Hodge’s residential mortgage portfolio to the Retail Credit Committee, executive senior team, and board.
* Develop mortgage risk policies to manage lending risks effectively, considering changing customer behavior.
* Lead and develop a team of three credit risk analysts.
* Lead credit risk analytics across Hodge’s mortgage portfolio and forward flow agreements, including Buy to Let lending and motor finance.
* Maintain a framework to monitor mortgage origination performance.
* Oversee underwriting through data analysis and quality assurance.
* Stay informed about external economic and market conditions impacting the business.
* Communicate complex analyses and insights clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
General Responsibilities:
* Maintain knowledge of departmental policies and ensure compliance.
* Undertake additional tasks as requested by management.
* Support the organization's risk culture by actively managing risks.
* Comply with all policies, procedures, and legislative requirements, including GDPR, Financial Crime, PRA/FCA regulations, and employment laws.
* Ensure adherence to audit and compliance standards.
* Keep updated on regulatory and legislative changes related to products and services.
