We have an exciting opportunity for a Paralegal to join our Serious Injury (SI) team in Sheffield, working on a varied and rewarding caseload.
Personal injury can have a dramatic and life‑changing impact on individuals and their families. At Irwin Mitchell, our teams don’t just handle compensation claims we work closely with clients to ensure their rehabilitation needs are met. This bespoke approach makes a real difference for those whose lives have been turned upside down by injury.
You will be part of our Partner Louise Jenkin’s team, who leads the Serious Injury team in Sheffield, comprising of over 50 team members. Louise has more than 20 years of experience in acting for clients who have sustained serious brain and spinal cord injury and other complex injuries.
As a Serious Injury Paralegal, you'll be:
1. Providing legal support to qualified Case Handlers across a range of serious injury cases.
2. Managing client queries quickly, efficiently, and with empathy.
3. Progressing cases independently under supervision and as part of a team.
4. Liaising with clients and medical professionals in person, by phone, and in writing.
5. Arranging meetings, seeking medical reports, and chasing information with sensitivity and professionalism.
This is a hybrid role, working 2 days per week in our Sheffield office.
About You
As our ideal candidate for this role, you'll have:
6. Demonstrable Paralegal experience (desirable).
7. A clear interest in Serious Injury work.
8. A strong ability to work on your own initiative.
9. Empathy and compassion to guide clients through challenging personal circumstances.
10. Excellent communication and organisational skills.
