Job Overview
We are urgently recruiting freelance Kurdish interpreters and translators based in Wakefield to work within various settings such as the NHS, Local Authorities, Police, Probation and other public and private organisations.
Established in 2001, Language Empire has been providing professional interpreting and translation services across the UK for over 20 years, covering hundreds of languages and dialects.
Key Responsibilities
* Interpret for people using legal, health and local government services.
* Check the non‑English speakers' understanding after each sentence.
* Provide conference, consecutive and public service interpreting.
* Deal with highly confidential information.
* Liaise between the service user and service provider.
Requirements
* Fluent in English and Kurdish.
* All applicants must have the right to work in the UK.
* Age 21 or over.
* Formal qualifications such as:
o Diploma in Public Service Interpreting (DPSI)
o Community Interpreting
o NRPSI, CIOL, ITI registered is advantageous.
o Degree in Translation/Interpreting/Languages.
o Any other interpreting related qualification.
