Full time Administrative Assistant/Rating Officer
Middle Fen and Mere Internal Drainage Board are looking for an Administrative Assistant/Rating Officer to join their small friendly team. The work is interesting and varied. The Assistant's role will involve all matters relating to the administration and organisation of Board functions and meetings.
Main roles and responsibilities are to work as part of a team and contribute to establishing a high performing team recognising and promoting best practice, delivery consistent quality throughout the business in the following areas:-
Finance Administration
· Maintenance of rating programme/dealing with land drainage rate enquiries
· Maintain GIS data base
· Assist with the filing and archiving of finance records under the direction of the Clerk
· Payroll
· Processing of invoices
· Maintenance of rating programme
Reception Duties
· Answer telephone calls and direct or take messages
· Assist members of the public in person in Reception
· Take payments from members of the public in person
· Welcome Board Members
· Assist with external enquiries
Administration
· Assist in provision of appropriate administrative systems to support the work of the office
· Assist Engineering department in data entry and record keeping
· Open general enquiry emails
· Assist with the preparation and management of meetings and events under the direction of the Engineer/Clerk
· Produce letters and reports as required
· Maintain electronic and hard copy filing systems as required.

Middle Fen and Mere IDB are looking for an honest, trustworthy individual who is keen to learn and has the ability to work independently and prioritise his/her workload. The successful applicant will show initiative as well as being polite and well presented. Positivity and enthusiasm are key personal qualities that are important in this small team. The candidate needs to be customer service focused and aware, and can interpret information, procedures and guidelines
Skills required:
· Competent in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Word
· An aptitude for administration and organisation
· Excellent written and oral communication skills, with a pleasant and confident telephone manner
· Good general information technology skills
· Attention to detail and good clerical and administration skills
· Time management
· Team working and active team player

Job Type: Full-time
Pay: £28,000.00-£33,500.00 per year
