Injection Moulding Technician Apprentice (Level 3) – HPM Ltd – Location: Sandiacre. Department: Science Apprenticeship - Process Industries Manufacturing Technician (Chemical) L3.
Location: Unit 9 & 10 Ascot Park Estate, Lenton Street, Sandiacre, Nottinghamshire NG10 5DL.
The Package
* Starting salary: £14,975 - £18,720 per annum (National Living/Minimum Wage dependent on age)
* Paid overtime available
* Working hours: Monday - Thursday, 8am - 5pm
* Fridays off
* 30 minute lunch break
* 20 days of annual leave plus bank holidays

Responsibilities
* Learn to operate injection moulding machines safely and efficiently.
* Start and stop machines according to production requirements.
* Adjust machine settings to optimize production.
* Prepare tools and equipment for production runs.
* Learn to set up and change molds.
* Learn to sling and lift tools using cranes.
* Perform visual and mechanical quality checks to ensure production meets standards.
* Identify and report any quality issues.
* Learn about different types of plastics and their properties.
* Understand how material properties affect the molding process.
* Maintain a clean and safe work environment.
* Learn about basic machine maintenance procedures.
* Follow all safety protocols and procedures.
* Receive training from experienced setters and technicians.
* Potentially provide guidance to other operators.
In this position, you’ll also have the opportunity to gain exposure to different teams and manufacturing/engineering processes, including machine repair.

Through practical on-the-job training, you’ll develop the skills and knowledge needed to become a competent Injection Mould Tool Setter/Operator, gaining expertise in injection moulding processes, tool setting, machine operation, and quality control. This apprenticeship provides a strong foundation for a career in injection moulding and manufacturing, ensuring production efficiency, high-quality output, and adherence to safety standards. Eligibility

To be eligible, applicants must demonstrate that the program will provide learning and experiences beyond their current qualifications and professional expertise. If you already hold a Level 3, degree or equivalent higher-level qualification in a closely related field, or possess substantial relevant experience, you may not be eligible for apprenticeship funding, as these programmes are designed for individuals who require upskilling or reskilling in their chosen career pathway. You’ll need to be over 16, not in full time education, have lived in the UK for 3 years and have the right to work in the UK.
