Role responsibilities
Are you a Qualified Train Manager (Conductor) and want to work your train through some of the most beautiful countryside on our network?
Based at our Chester depot, as one of our Train Managers (Conductors), you will operate at the very heart of our service to ensure our trains run both safely & on time, therefore we need conductors who can handle a wide range of responsibilities.
Who we’re looking for:
• Exceptional concentration skills & and a passion for safety.
• A real passion for Customer Service.
• Be calm under pressure.
• Be comfortable working alone with procedures & rules.
• Excellent communication skills.
• ‘Locking out’ areas of use if necessary and ensuring accurate reporting through contact with control and completing the on-train fault log.
• Adhering to all rules, procedures and acting on instructions. Having a robust understanding of railway safety and all rules and regulations; promoting a positive safety culture and awareness at all times.
• Able to competently work our trains in a safe and punctual manner.
• Observe rules, regulations and instructions relevant to the role.
You must be a Qualified Train Manager (Conductor), with a proven safety record and live within a 1 hour travelling time from home to Chester Railway Station.
What else you'll need to know:
We’re here for our customers, whenever they need to travel, which means your shift lengths & patterns will vary – so you’ll need to be flexible in your working hours.
1. Working 4 days per week with an average of 35 hours per week
2. Your shift pattern will include early starts/late finishes and also working weekends inc Sundays & Bank Holidays
Welsh Language Skills
The ability to speak/write Welsh would make a great addition to your application, but it is not essential for this role.
