ABP Linden have an exciting opportunity based in our Retail site for an Intake Operative
Responsible for unloading products from transport, checking packaging/quality, weighing in stock, transferring stock, rotating stock, and servicing production room. picking orders, scanning pallets, loading containers and ensuring orders are correct and associated paperwork duties.
Brief outline of Duties:
* Unload products from refrigerated transport
* Check product weights, quantity, etc. and reject any non-conformances
* Weigh in stock and put pallet number on to pallet or case
* Place stock in Intake cold store
* Rotate stock in date order and use as required by production
* Check yields and stocks on completion of shift, amend if necessary and report any changes to Production Manager
* Stack product correctly in chills
* Carry out all required quality checks
* Select correct stock for assembling orders and transfer stock to despatch bay
* Scan all crates on every pallet prior to despatch
* Check that correct number of crates on each pallets have been scanned and correct destination recorded
* Process relevant documentation for each consignment
* Load containers and ensure all pallets have been scanned and checked prior to loading, enclosing documentation
* Communicate effectively with Transport & Production to ensure deadlines are met with regard to shipping times.
* Report any discrepancies with order of pick queries and establish how and why the discrepancy occurred
* Ensure all orders are correctly filled, assembled and despatched
Requirements:
* Previous experience in a similar environment
* Ability and willingness to work in a cold environment undertaking manual labour tasks
* Flexibility to work additional/alternate hours depending on the needs of the business
* Good communications skills and understanding of English language
Desirable:
* Experience working in Intake
* Experience using a scanner
