Job summary

We are looking for a motivated and compassionate individual to join our Community Mental Health Service as a Support Time and Recovery (STR) Worker. This is a rewarding opportunity to make a real difference in people's lives by supporting individuals with mental health difficulties in their recovery journey.

The role involves working collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team, adopting a recovery-focused, strengths-based approach to help people achieve their goals. You will work with individuals in the community and provide in-reach to in-patient settings, supporting people to return home and live as independently as possible.

A full driving licence with access to a vehicle (business insurance required) and the flexibility to work across a 24/7 shift pattern, including evenings and weekends, are essential for this role.

Main duties, tasks & skills required

* Deliver evidence-based interventions under supervision, such as graded exposure, behavioural activation, and emotional regulation skills.
* Provide consistent and practical support to patients in line with their agreed care plans.
* Promote recovery, independence, and wellbeing by supporting individuals with daily living skills, health promotion, and social inclusion.
* Work closely with carers, families, and partner organisations to ensure holistic and person-centred care.
* Identify early signs of relapse and alert appropriate professionals.
* Maintain clear and accurate records in line with Trust policies.
* Support patients to access community resources, including housing, benefits, education, and voluntary sector services.

About us

As an organisation, Somerset NHS Foundation Trust offers employees a wide range of benefits including flexible working, NHS pension scheme, generous annual leave allowance and a commitment to career development.

You will be eligible for our Blue Light Card and a wide range of NHS exclusive shopping & leisure discounts.

We are proud of our skilled, diverse workforce and as an inclusive employer we welcome applications from all backgrounds.

Working in Somerset enables you to enjoy the idyllic countryside, areas of outstanding beauty and stunning coastlines whilst still only being a stone's throw away from bustling city centres like Bristol, Bath and Exeter and only two hours away from London.

There are excellent educational facilities in the area and, when compared to other regions, house prices are reasonable.

Somerset offers the countryside and the cosmopolitan - there is truly something for everyone
