Licensing Services are responsible for delivering the licensing regime within the borough of St Helens, which includes Taxis, Pubs, Clubs, Bars, and other premises that sell alcohol, or hot food after 23:00, Gambling, Scrap Metal, Marriage Licences, and a whole host of other licences. Licensing Services are also responsible for the upkeep of the Local Land Charges Register and the processing of searches (personal searches, LLC1s, and CON29Rs).
Were currently seeking to recruit additional staff due to a huge increase in applications received this year, which has caused a considerable backlog and pressure on the existing members of the team. This role will provide additional support to cope with this demand.
The successful candidate will be answering and triaging telephone calls, covering reception drop ins by taking and scanning of documents from customers, and adding them to their files, triaging email inboxes, database work, telephone payments, and providing support where required to all areas of Licensing and Local Land Charges.
Confidence and experience of dealing with difficult customers is required as the service customers can be challenging.
