CNC Miller/ Horizontal borer
Are you an experienced CNC Miller looking to work with our client a large engineering company based in Sheffield. We’re seeking a skilled CNC Millers to join a dynamic production team.
4 Day compressed working week.
* Days - 6am - 4pm Monday - Thursday, With plenty of overtime availability
* Nights - 4.30pm - 2.30am, With plenty of overtime availability
Pay Rate
Days £18.00 p/hr
Nights £23.70 p/hr
About the Role
As a CNC Miller, you’ll be responsible for machining small batch, high-precision components using a variety of CNC machines and controls including Elga mills and floor borers up to 12m, You’ll work with exotic materials such as Carbon steel, Duplex, stainless, copper and titanium
Key Responsibilities
* Operate Elga mills and floor borers up to 12m capacity
* Work with Heidenhain control systems, including on-machine programming
* Set up and machine a range of components including castings, forgings, and fabrications
* Operate CNC milling machines to tight tolerances on fixture-based work.
* Read and interpret complex engineering drawings.
* Work with various CNC controls Elga mills and floor borers up to 12m
* Use manual measuring equipment (micrometers, internal/external gauges)
* Maintain a clean and organised work area.
* Support machine maintenance and TPM checks.
* Collaborate with team members to meet production targets.
Person Specification
* Setting up and machining castings
* Proven experience in CNC milling across multiple machine types including Operate Elga mills and floor borers up to 12m capacity
* Previously worked with Carbon steel, Duplex, stainless, copper and titanium
* Strong understanding of Health & Safety practices.
* Good numeracy, literacy, and computer skills.
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
* Positive attitude towards continuous improvement and 5S.
* Willingness to work overtime when required.
* Resilience under pressure and adaptability in a fast-paced environment.
* Reliable, diligent, and committed to quality.
* Honest and respectful, with strong communication skills.
