As Assistant Store Manager, youll play a key role in supporting the Store Manager to drive sales, manage staff, and ensure the smooth day-to-day running of the store. Key Responsibilities Support the Store Manager in all aspects of store operations. Oversee daily retail activities, including sales, cash handling, and customer service. Manage stock levels, process orders, and maintain accurate inventory records. Supervise, train, and motivate team members to achieve sales and deliver excellent customer experiences. Conduct interviews, onboarding, and staff performance management. Ensure the store is clean, safe, and well-presented at all times. Manage staff rotas, handle basic HR tasks, and foster a positive team environment. Build and maintain strong relationships with customers and suppliers. Contribute to merchandising, promotional activities, and store displays. Experience & Skills Required Proven experience in a retail management or supervisory role. Strong leadership, communication, and organisational skills. Proficiency in computerised ordering, invoicing, and stock management systems. Ability to manage staff, delegate tasks, and maintain operational efficiency. Experience in flooring, tiling, carpets, or radiator sales is advantageous (full training provided).
