Are you looking for a role where you can use your hands-on experience working for the South West's biggest employer?
We currently have an opportunity available for a Mechanical Craftsperson to join our team in Redruth. You will join us on a full-time, permanent basis, and in return, you will receive a salary of £34,368 - £40,729 per annum, plus benefits.
About the role:
As our Mechanical Engineer, you will fault find, repair, and maintain South West Water (SWW) assets across various sites, including water treatment works, pumping stations, and service reservoirs. Your goal will be to ensure maximum asset availability and support the SWW vision by minimizing risks to compliance and preventing pollution.
What you will be doing:
* Carry out reactive maintenance on mechanical equipment to the highest standard of workmanship
* Provide detailed specifications of parts for ordering stock replacements and repairs
* Manufacture and fabricate parts and equipment
* Undertake any necessary training to carry out work activities safely and legally
* Perform scheduled work activities
* Assist operational staff with resolving complex problems
* Keep internal customers updated on activities impacting their processes
* Use or request method statements and safe systems of work for activities
* Act as duty Mechanical Craftsperson on a standby/call-out rota basis
What we are looking for:
* Completed apprenticeship in a relevant technical discipline
* Understanding of RAMS for effective and safe maintenance
* Experience with wastewater treatment processes is desirable
* Ability to fault find and repair large, complex mechanical equipment
