JOB- Engineering Manager
LOCATION- Liverpool
TERM- Permanent
SALARY- £60,000 - £65,000 per annum (dependent on experience)
My client is a specialist manufacturer. They are looking for an Engineering Manager with a background in Mechanical Design to join their team in Liverpool on a permanent basis.
The Engineering Manager will ideally have the following attributes:
* 5 or more years’ of industry experience, with a background in Mechanical Design Engineering
* Previous management experience would be beneficial
* Strong leadership skills
* BSc / BEng in Mechanical Engineering or similar
* Proven ability to take products from conceptual design to being sold commercially
* Ideally be experienced leading development for components from concept to production
* Proficiency with CAD software – ideally SolidWorks or similar
* Experience in Pharmaceutical, Life Sciences, process equipment, ancillary equipment, hydraulics or similar industries would also be beneficial
* Ability to drive Engineering development
* Good mathematical and general engineering knowledge
* Excellent knowledge of manufacturing processes and materials – sheet metal, castings, machining, fabrication etc.
* The ability to understand system requirements
* Be self-motivated with excellent attention to detail
* Have excellent communication skills both verbal and written
The Engineering Manager role will involve:
* Managing a team of Design Engineers
* Being involved with Engineering/Design as well as overseeing New Product Development and Introduction processes
* Using 3D CAD software on a daily basis
* Taking things from concept to launch
* Helping to develop existing products on a technical level
* Liaising with customers as required keeping them up to date with project progress
* Producing technical drawings as needed
* Driving continuous improvement
* Offering technical support
* Sourcing and selecting components that are required
