The successful candidate will play an active role in the continued improvement in the Animal Management department. They will deliver theory and practical lessons on a range of BTEC and City and Guilds programmes, from level 2 to level 3, within the curriculum area. They will also be expected to lead and develop enterprise and employability activities which enhance the learners experience and provide opportunities for personal and social skills development. MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES The main duties and responsibilities for a Main Grade Lecturer are as follows: * To devise students’ learning programmes and to guide them through the learning process (action planning, reviews, progression) towards a positive destination. * To deliver learning and undertake assessment on a range of programmes, taking full responsibility for the success of own learners. * To act as a Course Owner (group tutor). * To contribute to curriculum and staff development activities. * To develop and produce learning and assessment materials using e-systems (VLE, Boodle, etc). * To ensure that employability and employer engagement activities are embedded into the programmes, including ensuring that appropriate work experience is undertaken by the learners. * To enhance learners’ experiences by providing a range of enterprise activities both in the college and in the community. * To provide innovative teaching and learning experiences and develop a personalised and holistic learning approach. * To undertake administrative duties as requested by the College. * To ensure registers are marked * To participate in course teams and, if required, to lead such a team. * To evaluate the quality of provision within the programme area and ensure full compliance with all quality mechanisms (Course Reviews And Evaluations, etc). * Under take verification duties and, as required, act as Lead Verifier for a designated subject area. * To supervise the work of admin support, technicians and assistant lecturer staff within the programme area. * To undertake duties within the Animal Discovery Centre as required. * To assist with liaison and marketing activities. * To interface with college information systems on a daily basis. * To ensure all delivery is resourced appropriately for teacher and learner – to include suggesting potential enhancements and finding solutions to / reporting on difficulties as they occur. * To be involved with student recruitment and events outside of normal College hours, e.g. parent evenings, summer schools, off-site activities * This post requires full compliance with Health & Safety, Safeguarding, Equality & Diversity and policy and procedures at all times
