Residential Child Care Support Worker
Location: Headsnook, Brampton (and other locations in Carlisle)
Contract Type: Part-time, Permanent
Hours: shift pattern
Unqualified Basic Salary: £, pro rata (£, FTE) per annum with potential up to £, including sleep-in shifts

(Qualified Care Worker salary based on completion of a Level Diploma for Residential Childcare)

As a Residential Support Worker, you are expected to be strong, committed, and passionate. You will be a role model, a listener, approachable, and capable of inspiring young people. Your role involves creating positive memories and supporting their development.
We seek permanent Support Workers with a warm, approachable manner who can positively impact young people's recovery from early life experiences.
Main Duties
* Supporting daily routines: waking, personal hygiene, meals, school runs, activities
* Supporting room cleans, life skills, independence, socialisation, bedtime routines
* Attending medical and other appointments
* Supporting activity plans
* Working on targets with boys, completing day sheets
* Completing handover documents and daily paperwork
* Managing budgeting, room checks, house cleaning
* Shopping, meal prep, kitchen hygiene, laundry
* Performing checks: COSHH, fire, vehicle
* Building relationships with families, planning family contacts
Role includes being a Keyworker, creating special opportunities, building bonds with warmth, empathy, and genuine care.
Requirements
* Flexibility for sleep-in nights and shift work, including rotating start times
* Understanding issues faced by young people in care
* Relevant qualification or willingness to work towards one
* Excellent communication and listening skills
* Willingness to learn and work as part of a team
* Ability to undertake an enhanced DBS check (paid by employer)
* Experience with EBD, social/residential work, or youth work advantageous
* Full, clean UK driving license, available to cover other homes
