Principal CDM/H&S Adviser Location: Based out of the London office with travel to sites Salary: Open to discussion As a key member of the Safety Management Team, the Principal CDM/H&S Adviser will primarily deliver Construction (Design and Management) Regulations 2015 (CDM 2015) safety management services, acting as Principal Designer and Client CDM Adviser. The role also encompasses general health and safety advisory responsibilities across diverse sectors including residential, healthcare, government, defence, transport, environmental, commercial, and education projects. The successful candidate will be experienced in fulfilling all Principal Designer duties under CDM 2015 and capable of providing proactive, confident advice and liaison with clients, designers, contractors, and principal contractors on health and safety matters in design and construction. They will integrate seamlessly within the Safety Management team and wider operating units, supporting business development activities regionally. This role demands strong communication skills, the ability to manage workloads autonomously, and the confidence to challenge design and working practices to ensure safety compliance. The adviser will also engage with senior management, workers, and other stakeholders to promote health and safety culture and compliance. Skills: Extensive experience as Principal Designer and Client CDM Adviser under CDM 2015 Strong knowledge of UK Health & Safety legislation and Construction Health & Safety Management Ability to conduct construction site health and safety inspections and provide advice Proactive client, contractor, and designer liaison skills Business development and client relationship management Excellent verbal and written communication skills Strong organisational and time management abilities Ability to challenge designs and working methodologies constructively Confident autonomous working and team integration Holder of a full, clean UK driving licence with access to a suitable vehicle Certifications & Standards: NEBOSH National General Certificate in Occupational Safety and Health or National Certificate in Construction Health and Safety (minimum) Professional membership of IOSH, APS, CIOB, IIRSM, IRM, or IRSM Evidence of Continuing Professional Development (CPD) and skills maintenance Principal CDM/H&S Adviser
