In-House Tax & Finance Manager, Teddington
A great opportunity has arisen for a Tax Accountant to join the finance team of this recognisable privately owned company based in Teddington.
Due to a retirement in the team, they are looking to hire a Manager level candidate into a hybrid tax and finance role. The key requirement will be for the successful candidate to manage the various UK tax compliance requirements with the assistance of their Big 4 advisors. Since the tax element does not constitute a full-time responsibility, there will be opportunities to engage in wider finance and treasury work. This role could suit a qualified tax specialist seeking to broaden their experience in a broader role while transitioning into an in-house position.
Key Responsibilities
1. Tax Compliance
2. Prepare information required for corporate tax returns in collaboration with Big 4 firms, who handle the computations.
3. Review tax computations prepared by Big 4 for accuracy and advise the Finance Director on judgmental tax positions.
4. Prepare and submit other tax returns, including VAT, P11D, PSA, and ERS, accurately and timely.
5. Research the impact of new tax legislation and recommend tax planning strategies.
1. Financial Accounting and Reporting
2. Support month-end and year-end closing processes, including journal entries, reconciliations, and financial statement preparation.
3. Prepare and analyze financial statements such as income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements for monthly and year-end accounts, including supporting audits.
4. Monitor key financial metrics and prepare insightful reports for management.
5. Assist with budget preparation and variance analysis.
1. Treasury
2. Collaborate with the Director of Finance Operations to oversee cash flow and liquidity management, ensuring sufficient funding for operations and strategic acquisitions.
3. Optimize cash management processes and systems for efficiency and accuracy.
4. Prepare and present reports on treasury activities, including cash forecasting and weekly liquidity reports.

2. Assist with special projects such as system implementations, process improvements, and M&A activities.
Qualifications include being a qualified accountant or tax specialist (ACA, ACCA, CTA, or equivalent) with practical experience in UK corporation tax compliance. A minimum of 3-4 years in a similar role within a mid-tier accountancy firm or industry is required. Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills are essential. Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., Sage) and Microsoft Excel is advantageous.
This role is full-time and office-based in Teddington. Applicants should be local or willing to relocate.
