HGV Technician Vacancy in Preston
1. Location: Preston
2. Salary: £22.70 per hour + Overtime
3. Hours: Monday–Friday 2.00pm to 10.00pm
A leading and well-established commercial vehicle dealership in Lancashire is expanding its team and introducing a new afternoon shift pattern.
We are now seeking a qualified HGV Technician to join the workshop, which already employs over 25 skilled Technicians!
Key Responsibilities for the HGV Technician:
4. Carry out routine maintenance, inspections and repairs on HGVs in line with manufacturer standards.
5. Diagnose and rectify mechanical and electrical faults.
6. Complete job cards and all associated paperwork accurately.
7. Work to Health & Safety and DVSA standards at all times.
8. Participate in shift work on a rota basis, supporting the needs of the business.
Requirements for the HGV Technician:
9. Fully qualified HGV Technician (NVQ Level 3 or equivalent).
10. Post-apprenticeship experience in a commercial vehicle workshop environment.
11. DAF product knowledge or experience is desirable but not essential.
12. Confident working with diagnostics, fault-finding, and modern workshop systems.
13. A flexible approach to shift work and a strong team ethic.
