Job Opportunity: Pharmacy Assistant in Cancer Pharmacy
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic, highly motivated, and proactive pharmacy assistant with excellent communication, organisational, and interpersonal skills to join the cancer pharmacy team at the Horton.
This role is suitable for someone with either a hospital pharmacy background or community pharmacy experience wishing to transition into the hospital environment. Appropriate training will be provided. Candidates must have successfully achieved the relevant units of pharmacy services skills NVQ level (QCF) or an equivalent GPhC accredited training programme. Main duties of the job
* Work in reception area taking in prescriptions
* Deliver high-quality pharmacy services for out-patients and day treatment patients
* Label and dispense prescriptions
* Provide support and order medications for patients on oncology and haematology wards following suitable training
* Support the Cancer Pharmacy Team
* Be involved in customer service
* Patient counselling
* Work as part of a team
* Opportunity to work in both ward and dispensary areas
About you
* Respond to enquiries from staff, patients, and carers, ensuring accurate information is provided and escalating issues when necessary
* Build good working relationships within the Cancer Services team
* Ideally, have experience as a qualified Pharmacy Dispensing Assistant, be familiar with computer systems for dispensing and stock control, and possess good communication and organisational skills
